LYMMO Study Overview
LYNX and the City of Orlando are partnering to evaluate the expansion of the LYMMO circulator system. This LYMMO Study will provide a fresh look at transit modes, alignment alternatives, ridership demand, costs and impacts, and potential funding strategies associated with an expanded LYMMO service. The study is being conducted following Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Alternative Analysis procedures to keep open the prospect of future federal funding for an expanded LYMMO system.
Draft Locally Preferred Alternatives North/South Corridor
During the previous months, public input and technical analysis were conducted on the refined alternatives for the North/South Corridor, which included numerous options for the North Corridor and South Corridor to determine the locally preferred alternative (LPA).
Based on the alternatives analysis evaluation, the draft LPA's for the North Corridor and the South Corridor will be presented to seek public input for the final recommendation of the North/South Corridor alignment. Updates on the East/West and Parramore bus rapid transit (BRT) routes will also be presented.

Locally Preferred Alternative
Parramore BRT & East/West Corridor
Since April 2010, LYNX and the City of Orlando have been evaluating the possible expansion of the Downtown bus rapid transit (BRT) system, known as “LYMMO.” Based on public comments and further field work and evaluation analysis, the proposed East/West Corridor route was developed.
On March/April 2011, Orlando City Council, LYNX Board of Directors and METROPLAN Orlando accepted the Draft Locally Preferred Alternative for the East/West corridor (Proposed Locally Preferred Alternative East/West Corridor Map), which allows the LYMMO Expansion Project to be eligible for future Very Small Start funding from the Federal Transportation Administration (FTA) for preliminary design and engineering. This funding application has been submitted to FTA and is awaiting for approval.
We Need to Know Where
LYMMO Needs to Go
We seek your initial ideas regarding future LYMMO routes, services, stations and other features. There will be additional public/neighborhood meetings in the upcoming months to identify locally preferred circulator routes and modes.
